Kara's Story: a video interview about meeting her idol
Kara has been musical her entire life. Her experiences span from chorus and show choir to collegiate a capella groups to DC Go-Go bands to 90's-rock cover bands. Currently she's performing as lead vocalist in a folk trio, LuLu's Fate. Throughout her 20's, she was pushing her vocal range and style, learning guitar, and improving her piano-playing skills. She also started dabbling in songwriting. The most difficult task to learn, however, was to trust in herself and her talent. As with any creative endeavor, the ability to find your confidence is almost always the hardest to conquer. It's safe to say that it seems that Kara has gotten through the insecurities and self-doubt and found that confidence.
Now in her early 30's, Kara reflects back on the music-moment that helped her become the musician she is today. Watch her firstinline story below and follow her facebook page to find out where you can see her perform next.
{Editor's Note: After working on this story, the filmmaker of this video decided to use it as her senior project for her college editing class. Her professor loved it so much that she submitted it to the college's film-festival where it went on to win an award for Best Editing. Congratulations Leslie!}
